Kenyield refined the proportions, simplified the internal frame, reduced the number of parts, and evaluated alternative upholstery and finishing methods. Several prototypes were produced to test comfort, stability, assembly, and packaging.

Once the final sample was approved, Kenyield coordinated sourcing, production planning, quality standards, and packaging development with the selected manufacturing partner.

The final product retained the recognizable design of the original concept while becoming easier to manufacture, assemble, and ship. It reached its first retail order within nine months and came in 22% below the initial target cost.

Moving production to another country can sound like an easy way to reduce tariffs or lower costs. In practice, the cheapest factory price does not always create the lowest final cost.

Before changing suppliers, compare the full landed-cost picture:

• Unit price
• Tariffs and duties
• Tooling and development costs
• Freight and packaging
• Minimum order quantities
• Lead times
• Quality-control requirements
• Communication and management time

A new supplier may quote a lower price but require new tooling, larger orders, longer lead times, or more inspection. In other cases, moving one or two products to a second country can reduce risk without disrupting the rest of the supply chain.

For many growing brands, the best approach is not moving everything. It is testing a second source for one proven SKU, component, or product family and comparing the real costs before making a larger commitment.

The goal is not simply to find a cheaper country. It is to build a sourcing setup that protects margin, quality, and the ability to keep products in stock.
